You felt a special attraction to a life dedicated to God, you were the disciple of St. John the Baptist, and when he showed you Jesus – the unblemished Lamb – you would not hesitate a moment in following Jesus. Moreover, discovering this expensive treasure, you would not hide it but you shared it with your brother Peter. What special calling you had! Be apostle of the first apostles. Our Christian tradition deems you as an Apostle of our country. You sealed with your blood the evidence that you left it as a legacy. Please, intermediate us from Teacher Jesus the light of faith, so that we can know each other better, as well as a strong will to follow him so that in return we turn out to be zealous apostles for our neighbors.
